Door 15: Leftover Christmas dinner or New Year’s Eve party
Instead of having a Christmas party, why not have a party after Christmas or have the building host a New Year’s Eve reception earlier in the evening?
The run-up to Christmas tends to be filled with Christmas preparations: there are Christmas parties, Christmas cleaning, gift buying and many other kinds of preparation. There often isn’t enough time for having fun with other people before Christmas.
A lot of people don’t stop being busy until after Christmas. Therefore, it might make more sense to hold a party for the building’s residents at the end of the holidays – when people have had some time to rest and take it easy.
A couple of days after Christmas could be just the right time to hold a leftover Christmas dinner for the building, as many may still have plenty of Christmas treats to share.
Or why not have a New Year’s Eve reception for the building’s residents? It’s easy to get into the party mood with a glass of sparkling wine or juice, accompanied by sparklers and a toast.
If the idea of a post-Christmas party sounds wonderful, now is a good time to agree on the date with your neighbours. There will still be time to make arrangements after Christmas.
The tip about the neighbours’ joint New Year’s Eve reception came from Jukka, a Lumo resident, who was rewarded for his idea with cinema tickets.
Let’s make the wait for Christmas wonderful together!
