The buildings were completed between 1981 and 1982. They underwent a major renovation in 2007, giving the buildings a fresh new look. The housing committee is active, and you can often meet its members chatting or playing billiards in the residents’ lounge. Residents also have access to a free laundry room, drying rooms, storage spaces for personal belongings and bicycles, three shared saunas, and a small gym.
This Lumo building is located along a bus route, close to the services of Neulamäki. A grocery store, library, daycare centre, and school are all within walking distance. The area also offers excellent opportunities for outdoor activities.

The Neulamäki residential area is located about 5 kilometres from the centre of Kuopio. The area consists of terraced houses, apartment buildings and detached houses. Neulamäki is divided into residential and employment areas. The area is popular with families with children, but is also popular with students, as the university, university of applied sciences and vocational college are close by.
Neulamäki has a wide range of services, including kindergartens, a comprehensive school (grades 1-9), a library, a health centre, a pharmacy and grocery stores. In Savilahti, there is a shopping centre with a supermarket.
