Hiekkaharju
Hiekkaharju is a district in Vantaa, north of Tikkurila, just a few kilometres from the diverse services of Tikkurila.
The area has good transport connections: Hiekkaharju has its own railway station, with commuter trains that take you to Helsinki city centre in about half an hour, Tikkurila in a few minutes and the airport in 15 minutes. There are also several bus connections that take you around the surrounding areas.

Hiekkaharju, described as a village-like and community-centered place, is a quiet residential area a stone's throw from Tikkurila and its excellent service offerings. Tikkurila's diverse services and specialist shops are just a few minutes away by car or train. Closer to home, the Hiekkaharju Railway Station also offers a range of basic services from kiosks to flower shops.
Hiekkaharju also has a sports park with a golf course, tennis and squash courts, a multi-purpose sports hall and a gym. Tikkurila sports park and swimming pool are also nearby. The area is home to the Hiekkaharju school and a few kindergartens, and Tikkurila High School is right next door. Important green areas in the area include Malminmäenpuisto, Sipulipuisto and Tarhurinpuisto with playgrounds and jogging paths. The nearby Simonkylä area also offers excellent outdoor recreation opportunities.
