In late 2023, new Lumo homes were built in Tikkurila, close to great transport connections and many services. There are 126 apartments in total, in four buildings with 5–7 floors. The apartments are studios, two-room, and three-room homes.

Residents can use two saunas and two laundry rooms with drying rooms. There is plenty of storage space for bicycles and other outdoor equipment. Parking spaces are in the parking hall, and there are also charging points for electric cars.

All services in Tikkurila are very close. The library is across the street, and the swimming hall and ice hall are about a 10 minute walk away. The Dixi shopping center by the train station has many shops and restaurants. The health center and the nearest pharmacy are only a five minute walk away. In the area, there are schools and daycare centers in both Finnish and Swedish languages, an IB high school, and a university of applied sciences.

Transport in Tikkurila is excellent. The train station, where all local and long-distance trains stop, is only 500 meters away. The train ride to Helsinki takes 10–20 minutes, and to Helsinki Airport about 15 minutes. But Tikkurila is not only a transport hub—it is also a lively city center that is growing and changing all the time. New trendy restaurants have made it a favorite place for food lovers.

There are also culture and science centers, festivals, and parks that offer many events and activities. The Keravanjoki riverside area is being developed into a city oasis, where you can also enjoy theater at the old Silk Factory. Many new buildings and services are coming to the area, and transport will get even better. In the future, Tikkurila may even get a tram line.
